Brilliance

Most stellar star I see tonight,
I wish the world would wield your light
all day long and through the night,
so, when some darkness decrees might,
not one of us should favor fright
or act upon reflexive flight,
but rather stride with steady sight
and virtue's lantern burning bright,
embarking like a noble knight
forever questing what is right,
aware no Grail comes by a fight
and never needing swords to smite
a shadow dragon from its height,
simply wisdom, truth to cite,
perception beyond black and white,
refusing to react in spite,
with grasp of what is great or slight,
and heart to brave a flame or bite.
