Crescendo

As Liszt enchants the concert hall
six critics sift through endless notes

ten listeners regret they left
piano lessons to their youth

while most observers chase his hands
which hypnotize by candlelight

- then yet another stunning sight:
a dancer answers rhythm's call

obeys exacting serenades
balletically delirious

now emblematic of our urge
to move as music toward the surge.
