Descry

When vengeful tempests riot wide
and shadows storm the countryside
subduing views to silhouettes
while breakneck wind spins pirouettes
atop a tumbling mountain peak
as raging waters swamp and shriek

my mind behind that stifled sky
recalls one night I did descry
my glance of heaven's hopeful glow
and every time it lets me know:

despite disaster, darkness, spite,
our world revolves within that light.
