Diva Luna

Diaphanous, her off-white dress,
hems threadbare from millennia
of showy stagecraft every night:
the sauntering, grand pageantry,
commanding spotlights frame her face
and every eye return her way
before she even deigns to sing
the all-important aria
eclipsing every lesser star.
