Imperfect Circles

Unguided fingers clutching pens
go looping through and
wind around
the centers
they had

never
held

so

any
circle
inked
will sway

(oval, ovoid,
odd, oblique)

encompassing
perfection's flaw:

these faulty orbits mortals draw
shall not approach those divine lines
surpassing touch and time's designs

- inviolable geometry
beyond all thoughts
and what we see.
