No Narcissus
I am no Narcissus now,
flooded with my watery self,
ignoring what you say to me.
I'd never leave your words for last.
If there is a mirrored love,
it's how I view myself in you:
ideas you find, in words you breathe,
imperfectly perfected dream.
Serenity of symmetries:
adoring you echoed in me,
balanced by our bettered selves,
at peace with our equalities.
