Oceanic

   Emotions weave across our sea;
their surging currents, urgent, swirling,
   furl me in your tender ebbs.

      Before the whirlpools of your eyes
   I free myself from sinking fear

and relish how you draw me near,

   permit myself to drift within
      where I begin my final spin
         and leave the arid world behind.

      I dive inside your teeming mind,
   by sunken treasures, schools of thought,
discovering the lost and sought.

   I fathom your capacity,
      what you absorbed, comprise, or hide,
         the wreckage buried by the tide,

      those dreams that drowned because of sleep,
   whatever you release or keep,
but most of all:  our love runs deep.
