One Sculpture, Seven Spectators

I.

Admonishing all mortal shells
which
thinning
peel

baring bone:

marrow at the cavities
not outliving skin or stone.

II.

A dream a seashell might have had
perhaps an oyster
yearning pearls
and opalescence of the dusk
it hears about
but never sees.

III.

An evolution of a theory
which began as basic math
sketched on napkins over lunch:
new formulas for gravity
explaining what we should have known.

IV.

What it feels like
to be crushed
by the weight
of clarity
if everything
was wrought of glass.

V.

The mountain's heart,
tough atrium:

pumping rigor
rhythm

life

throughout the bodies
of the world.

VI.

What you would see
if time could
freeze.

VII.

The months we moseyed
by the beach
where sand was fine
and waves were wide
and summertime
should never end.
