So little do we need to move
before the most familiar place
becomes a country unexplored
revealing what we've yet to face.

A few steps leftward, back, or right
decides a shadow, shape, or light.
The ordinary swerves to strange
within the slightest hint of change.

To pace a hill or scale ravines
acquaints us with more secret scenes,
and when we sail along the shore
we sketch new maps as we explore.

Then, undersea or from the sky,
we learn how much escapes the eye.
Let us revisit what was found
and welcome wonders all around.
