Phoenix: Quenched

Cloudburst:

rainstorm
crushing wings

which
once aflame
gave me these skies

until
the downpour
snuffed all light

thunder ruptured
endless nights

and flooding drowned
the world I knew

until I
recollected you

admitting love

impassioning

ascent
again
from suffering.
