Revivify

More senses cloud and swell with storms:
impending lightning, wind, and floods

may saturate this arid span.
I pray the rain of life revives

the parched and hardened thoughts long scorched
by droughts of wonder, mirth, and zest.

- that vital clay, now cracked and pale,
once welcoming the wildflowers,

hummingbirds and evergreens,
essential streams, such butterflies,

not fissured flatland choked by bones
of perished questions, skulls of dreams:

necropolis born of neglects
and nothing no one recollects.

Let old convictions soak and soften,
loosen up, get swept away,

removed from stasis, surged with purpose,

churned till fertile, healed, seeded,

sunned beneath more tranquil light.
Let's resurrect a mind tonight!
