We're rooted in our planet Earth
even as we branch through space.
For all we know, create, or trace
began within this pale blue dab:
graffiti on the cosmic wall
illustrating humans, all,
reaching up toward distant stars.
And, even as the first on Mars,
our roots shall even stretch that far,
bound within this ancestry
grounding our humanity.
