Shell of Venus

Beside the beach
one wide white shell

scalloped
rare
once beautiful

abandoned since
an age ago

when Botticelli's Venus
stepped
in mythic glory
from her birth

(demure, that stare

iconic hair)

to usher loves
upon this earth.
