Snuggle St.

A dozen houses huddle here
when winter comes, because they fear
the snow and ice might freeze them well,
but, so far as I could tell,
this neighborhood, once bellicose,
keeps generous and rather close:
community in word and way,
to come together and display
this willingness to bond and share
a warmth not felt in summer air.
