Uprising

Upon the snapping
    of its string

   the lively kite
       no longer fought

   old tensions
       or impediments:

       it could range freely
   through the skies

   veer higher, wilder
      in those moments

      currents nurtured
   turbulence

before the trees
   or gravity

   would crush this
      fleeting uprising.
