Your Bifurcating Life

With every choice another chance
to pace a path, begin to branch
from everything you used to be
toward other possibility.

With every chance another choice
to branch again and find your voice
in all the words you did avow
and in your silence until now.

With any word another act
compares the spoken to the fact
and separates the false from true
to aggregate the who of you.

With any act an aftermath
which sets you on another path
to go, diverge, decide to be:
your causal genealogy

which includes your roots and ground
the forest where you think you're bound
until you find your seeds can fly
embrace the wind and ride the sky.
